Great day at the OpenHome 1-Day AI Hackathon powered by Algoryc.

I built Orbit Voice, an agentic voice assistant that tracks the International Space Station in real time. It could answer where the ISS is right now, who is on board, when it will pass over a city, how fast it is moving, and even fun questions like what the crew is eating by reasoning through live data sources before replying with a voice response.

We placed Top 7. Even without taking home the final prize, the experience was worth it for the chance to build agentic voice AI under pressure, collaborate closely with other student developers, and learn from a fast-moving hackathon environment.

• Designed, trained, and optimized generative AI, NLP, and computer vision models using PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, and LoRA-based fine-tuning.
• Developed AI-powered applications by integrating OpenAI APIs, large language models, SAM, Florence, and Gradio to deliver interactive inference and automation solutions.
• Engineered scalable data processing, augmentation, and dataset management pipelines to improve model performance and training efficiency.
• Managed cloud-based GPU training and deployment environments on AWS and Linux while optimizing embeddings, attention mechanisms, and inference workflows.
